Halloween is just around the corner and there’s no better way to get into the spirit than with a Mr. Shine Haunted Car Wash! Mark your calendars and come in to experience a car wash like no other. October 28th and 29th from 6-10p Mr. Shine Car Wash and Lake Pleasant Real Estate are partnering to put on a Haunted Car Wash like no other! We will be collecting donations for the Phoenix Children’s Hospital Animal Assisted Therapy (AAT) Program.
The AAT program is offered to patients and their families for therapeutic purposes. Scientific research has shown a patient’s interaction with an animal can provide positive physical and emotional benefits. It can reduce stress levels and invoke a sense of well being. AAT acts as a catalyst to motivate patients to help themselves.
A child will happily take a dog for a walk, or throw the animal a ball, forgetting the pain for a little while and moving closer to going home.
Carson Hunter, a patient at Phoenix Children Hospital has greatly benefitted from this program stating, “I like how the animals are really fluffy and friendly. The dogs helped me calm down when I was getting chemo. They always made me laugh, and I loved to see their tricks! I’m glad Animal Therapy can help other children at PCH.”
